OpenAI has announced that its frontier models and Codex are generally available on AWS, giving AWS customers a more direct path to bring advanced AI into production environments.
The move matters because many enterprise teams already depend on AWS for billing, security, procurement, compliance, and governance. Making OpenAI models and Codex available through AWS can reduce operational friction for teams that want AI tools inside familiar infrastructure.
Codex availability on Amazon Bedrock is especially important for software teams, because it brings AI-assisted coding, review, debugging, and modernization workflows closer to the systems where companies already build and ship applications.
